Dance the Word
They have seen Your procession, O God,
The procession of my God, my King,
into the sanctuary
. The singers went before,
the players on instruments followed after;
Among them were
the maidens playing timbrels
                                                 Psalm 68:24-25

Raise a song and strike the timbrel,
the pleasant harp with the lute.
                                                        Psalm 81:2

Again I will build you, and you shall be rebuilt,
O virgin of Israel! You shall again
be adorned
with your tambourines
, And shall go forth
in the dances of those who rejoice.

Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! Is the word that describes The Gathering of the Eagles Summit for Dance Ministry Leaders hosted by
Set Free Evangelistic Ministries in Columbus, Ohio on November 3-5, 2005. Pastors Chris and Pamela Hardy led this great event which
included special guests
Apostle LaFayette Scales of Rhema Christian Center, Rev. Eyesha Marable of Allen AME and the National
Liturgical Dance Network,
Yvonne Peters of Without End Ministries, Rochelle Pitts of Rhema Christian Center, Apostle Veronica Smith of
CDF East Coast,
Prophet Darin Allen of International Covenant Ministries and Terrance Hollins of Davidic Ministries International.

The summit was set for “the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry…” (Ephesians 4:12). The train of the Lord truly filled the temple
opening night as the praise and worship team ushered us into His presence and the dancing began. Prophetic parables of
Charlotte
Baker
were interpreted and compelled us to examine our relationships with God and take a closer look at our intimate time with him.
Yvonne Peters let us know that we are 'good dirt' as she taught on the Lord’s Passion for Worshippers; reminding us that worship and
covering the throne of God is the only translated ministry that is going to heaven.

Rev. Eyesha Marable ministered on relationship and covenant as she extracted jewels from the book of Ruth. Rochelle Pitts discussed
what dance ministries look like, as she assured us that every joint supplies a need, and that we are to value each other and trust the
intentions of our leaders. Dr. Pamela Hardy spoke on spiritual gifts, knowing the time and the season, vision, purpose, dancing with the
power that God gave us, and time management, as she encouraged us to “be free and soar like eagles.”

Apostle LaFayette Scales taught us about “The Cost of Leadership.” He stressed the importance of prayer, humility, ministry of the word,
worship, truth and fire. During the Anointing and Commissioning Service, there was such an outpouring of the Holy Spirit as the ministers
danced to Shekinah Glory’s “Yes." Deliverance was definitely in the house as Prophet Darin Allen urged us all the more to soar as only
eagles can, against all odds.

The praise and worship did not stop there! Many of the ministers of dance joined Pastors Chris and Pamela Hardy for an awesome night
of dancing before the Lord. Sunday morning service called for an even higher time in the Spirit at International Covenant Ministries as we
enlarged our tents.

I would urge every dancer to prepare for the
2006 Gathering of the Eagles Summit that will be held October 5-7, 2006. For more info,
please visit
Set Free Evangelistic Ministries (www.pamelarutherford.org). I look forward to dancing with you in the near future as you come
and soar where only eagles can.

Dance Ministry Resources
We are being bombarded in the name of "Political Correctness." As I have listened to the news recently, there is
controversy over the use of "Happy Holidays" vs. "Merry Christmas." Stories vary about employees who are told not
to use the word "Christmas." This is nothing new. We have seen the use of 'Merry X-mas,' 'Seasons Greetings,' and
the like. Santa, reindeer, and excessive spending are encouraged in advertising, commercials, and in stores. What is
the larger statement here?

As I prepared for service one year, God gave me a revelation that I have held dearly ever since. I will share it with you.
The word "
mas" in Spanish means "more." When I see or hear the word Christ-mas it now means "Christ MORE!"
In a culture that is trying to deny our Lord and Savior, should we not proclaim the name of the Lord even louder?

When we prepare to select songs and choreography for ministry, let's remember to employ the name of Christ
Jesus MORE! Inspirational songs may be great, but as the Word says in Acts 4:12 (NKJV),
"Nor is there salvation
in any other, for
there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Our
commission remains to spread the gospel to every creature. There is no gospel without Jesus Christ!

As ministers of the dance, we have many wonderful opportunities to minister the Word of God in many non-traditional
settings and programs.  As doors continue to open for us, let us never forget Romans 1:16, which states,
"For I am
not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes..."
Review your current song selection and ministry pieces. Have you unconsciously omitted Christ? The world needs
Christ now more than ever before.

Dance with Boldness. Dance with Authority. Dance with Power. Dance in the name of Jesus Christ!

A Note for Dancers..
Dancing Saints of God, in case you don't quite understand what is
happening to us in the congregation while you are worshipping our
God in the dance, let me try to explain it to the best of my ability.

It could take a preacher 15-20 minutes to get us to understand the
bottom line of a sermon, but it takes you only 30 seconds for us to get
the ENTIRE REVELATION with your facial expressions.

So, if you see us standing there and not clapping, if you see the tears
flowing while we sit, if you see us bent over and screaming, if you see
our hands lifted, if you see us looking at you with no movement at all,
we are actually in awe of God's overwhelming Power and Glory!! It was
too much for us to handle all at once.  That's how powerful the Dance
ministry is!!

PS... If you don't spend time with Jesus, we see that too...

Sincerely,

A Supportive Observer
Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom.
And in all your getting, get understanding.
